Producer busted for cocaine distribution.Charles Patton, a hip hop producer and partner in rapper Lupe Fiasco’s label 1st and 15th, was arrested and sentenced to 44 years in a Chicago prison after investigators discovered six kilograms of cocaine – valuing $1 million on the streets – in Patton’s possession in 2003. The coke is said to be related to a drug operation Patton, and his wife Inita, had running since the ’80s.

Prosecutors insinuated that Lupe, who was at Patton’s home at the time of his arrest, knew about Patton’s illegal activities, playing phone conversations of the rapper and Patton discussing splitting up “whole yellow” and “whole red” ones which a witness involved in the investigation said references mixing up $10 heroin packets. Lupe said he was referring to mixing his music, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Lupe was unavailable for comment.
